A beautiful rooftop with an incredible view of Tokyo Tower, especially after sunset. The atmosphere is elegant yet relaxed, making it a great place to end the evening. Definitely worth stopping by for the view alone.

We were staying at the Andaz and wanted to give the rooftop bar a try. The drinks were very good and the view is great. However, I’m giving two stars rating because the service was subpar. When we first entered the bar, the host let us know that one table was clearing up and they would seat us at the high top table but will switch us to a window table once it was ready. We thought that was reasonable and ordered drinks from the high tops. We ended up ordering two rounds of drinks and other parties were seated at window tables ahead of us even though they came after. We flagged one of the waitress and asked if we could switch to a window table. After the waitress checked, she said yes and helped us move. However, only after we moved she mentioned that there is a price per person to be seated at the nicer view. We said ok, and told her that we were told we would be seated here shortly after arriving. She didn’t really respond, just reiterated that it was ¥2000 per person to be seated at the window tables. She later came back later to tell us the charge would be waived because we were room guests. I would have been ok paying for the table but only if we were seated there from the beginning. It just seemed very unorganized and a lot of miscommunication from a high end bar. I would recommend bars nearby such as gold bar for a nicer experience.

Had a very relaxing evening enjoying my cigar and wine with a completely unobstructed view from the Rooftop Bar at Andaz Tokyo. There is really something special about the Tokyo Tower at night, the way that beautiful, classic, warm orange glow stands out against the dark modern skyline is just mesmerizing and adds such a great vibe to the night. Just a heads-up, you should expect to pay a bit of a premium for the outdoor seats, but it is entirely worth it. It was so nice to just sit outdoors, take in that incredible view, and relax against the cool summer breeze.

I visited on the evening of Friday, 3 July, for my last night in Tokyo. When I arrived, Leo (I believe that was his name) told me the front outdoor seats weren’t available, so I was seated at the back. I was completely fine with that. Around midnight, a front table became vacant. I politely asked if I could move, as it was my last night in Tokyo, but was told those tables were only for hotel guests. Moments later, I asked another staff member, who happily moved me to that exact table and looked after me wonderfully for the rest of the evening. What disappointed me was the inconsistency. If the table was vacant and there were no bookings, why say no? Great hospitality is about creating memorable experiences, especially when there’s no downside to doing so. I’ve worked in travel media and this felt unusual for a five-star hotel. I also can’t help but say the interaction left me feeling uncomfortable and wondering if I was treated differently. I spent a considerable amount that evening, but the initial interaction unfortunately left a poor taste.

Rooftop Bar, Andaz Tokyo Toranomon Hills We went to the Andaz rooftop bar around 10 pm after dinner. We were six people and managed to get a table without a reservation. We had to wait a little and ended up squeezed together on the sofa, but it was fine. Still, I’d recommend booking in advance — it just makes things easier. The drinks are really good. They’re not cheap, but the quality is absolutely there. Service was friendly and competent, as you’d expect in a place like this. A little more warmth would have been the cherry on top. The view from the Andaz in all directions is incredible. That alone makes the visit worth it — especially at night when the whole city is lit up. Wow, what a sight. My tip: make a reservation, enjoy the drinks, and let the view do its magic. Have fun 🙂

July 31, 2025 Nice view but is actually outside hence too hot this season. Requires reservations or you won’t get a table with a view. Cocktails at ¥2,000-¥3,000 as expected for this kind of hotel bars. Interior inside is underwhelming, small and nothing special. Probably not coming again in summer or winter as there are equally nice bars/restaurants that are more comfortable to spend time in and easier to have the view.
We are quite used to cocktail bars, the small ones, the lowbrow ones, the fancy ones, but never got treated so badly in one. We arrived and got immediately stored in the darkest place of the bar, although my friend is very obviously low sighted. The interior is pretentious. The cocktails cost ¥3000 per glass, which is fair considering the place. The description of them looked promising, but 2 out of 3 were hugely disappointing. Lack of character and taste, no body, no balance. On the way out my partner needed to go to the bathroom but couldn’t because apparently you cannot go to their toilets anymore after you paid. Or maybe they just don’t like the sight of a handicapped person roaming around between their rich clients, which is worse? In conclusion go there to enjoy the view, which is fantastic from the second I could see it, but make a reservation because they won’t give you a place with a view otherwise, but don’t go for the cocktails. Go to a small cocktail bar ran by passionate and talented people, not pretentious snob places like this.
