An unforgettable stay. What impressed me most about Rosewood Guangzhou was not only the beautiful property, but the people. The hotel has a unique personality, with art, design, and thoughtful details throughout every space, making it feel warm and memorable rather than just another hotel in Guangzhou. The facilities are outstanding, especially the gym, and the breakfast is exceptional, with great quality and variety. What truly sets this hotel apart, however, is the hospitality of its team. A special thank you to William from Vietnam, who was working at breakfast and made us feel completely at home with his kindness, warmth, and attention to detail. Hugo also deserves recognition for his friendliness and for making an effort to speak Portuguese when he learned we were Brazilian. Tim and Tina at the front desk were equally welcoming and helpful.

We spent 9 nights here, i have traveled extensively and in the past have also stayed at The Ritz in Guangzhou. I have never experienced anything as i have at Rosewood Hotel. The hotel, its decor, its restaurants, the service, the rooms, the views, the attention to details and every staff member from the concierge to the management speak English and go out of their way to assist. The gym amd pool facilities arr exquisite. The bar on top floor was great. It is blatantly clear that service is their top prioroty. Cannot fault a thing even slightly. By far the best hotel I have ever been to and will most definitely return. Well done.

Lingnan Chinese resturant was yummy but don’t go too late as a lot of their recommended dishes will be sold out. Best to go 6.30pm. Too High bar located at 107 floor, A beautiful view of Guangzhou. Leo was very attentive and helpful. 9pm has live lounge music. Hydro pool can view the canton tower . Gym has state of the art equipment. Rooms are chinos mix with modern elegance. Views are awesome.

If I could give a zero star I would. Never stay at this hotel. They will lie to your face. From day 1 of the stay they tried to charge us an extra 50% on the 1st nights stay. On check out, they tried to double our rate for the rooms and when we tried to dispute it, they said the best we could do was give us 1000rmb off per night. We will never be staying in another rosewood.

Rosewood Guangzhou: A Remarkable Transformation Plain to See Since its opening in 2019, Rosewood Guangzhou has quickly become a popular social media hotspot, thanks to the striking exterior of the East Tower designed by KPF and the interior spaces crafted by Yabu Pushelberg. Its visual appeal is beyond dispute, every shot effortlessly delivers a sense of drama and style. Yet among frequent guests, opinions have long been divided. Boasting the city's tallest skyscraper, prime location and unrivalled panoramic views, its service standards once struggled to match its exceptional hardware, a sentiment I shared during my two previous stays. That said, Rosewood's keen understanding of the female guest segment cannot be overlooked. My mom was so impressed by her stay at Rosewood Hong Kong that she specifically requested Rosewood again for this Guangzhou trip. Happy to accompany her, I took the opportunity to revisit and observe the hotel's evolution. Occupying the top 39 floors of the East Tower, Rosewood Guangzhou may have lost its title as the world's highest hotel to the Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur and J Hotel Shanghai in terms of architectural height, yet its operational floors remain the highest among hotels worldwide. Combined with the Rosewood Residences in the mid-section, the entire property offers 606 rooms, making it the largest Rosewood hotel globally by volume. Booked through Eight Continents, my stay was preceded by a personal call from a Rosewood butler to confirm details, followed by a proactive WeChat add-on to discuss preferences. I had originally requested a tower-view room, but ended up in a Deluxe City View Twin Room to accommodate the twin-bed requirement. Though no upgrade was provided, the overall service far exceeded expectations. The welcome amenities included not only the standard fruit platter but also two complimentary cakes from Butterfly Patisserie downstairs, thoughtful and delightful. This marked my first stay since Rosewood’s brand visual refresh in 2025: the new collaterals boast noticeably improved texture, with the signature Explorer Green palette pleasing to the eye and the ballpoint pen feeling solid and well-crafted. The room key design, however, has grown generic, losing its former distinctiveness. The guest room is slightly compact, and the bathroom features only a single vanity basin, hardly appropriate for a hotel at this price point, though other facilities are fully equipped. The turndown service stood out in particular: a bottle of plum wine with ice, paired with a caviar and salmon savoury tart, elegantly understated and perfectly executed. It was clear that advance communication had made all the difference. Rosewood Guangzhou is quietly getting better. From the attentive pre-arrival coordination by the butler team and refreshed brand details to the warm, thoughtful amenities, its progress is plain to see. It no longer relies solely on its height and views to impress, but strives to create a sense of belonging high above the clouds. The sweeping spiral staircase and communal round dining table inside the Xi Guan House both reflect thoughtful touches of home comfort. On this visit, Rosewood Guangzhou's remarkable improvement was truly undeniable.

Dining at Lingnan House (廣御軒) — the Michelin one-star Cantonese restaurant on the 5th floor. Booked in advance for my mother’s birthday. For a Michelin one-star, the experience was well below expectations. Food: The Shunde deconstructed fish soup (顺德拆鱼羹) was the highlight — rich, delicate broth and genuinely delicious. Truffle tossed sea whelk was also well-executed. However, the signature roasted black palm goose (现烧黑棕鹅) was tough and chewy, tasting like it had been sitting since the day before. The lobster angel hair noodle had a nice Sichuan peppercorn touch, but the lobster tasted frozen. The abalone char siu puff was soggy and poor. Three misses out of six dishes is not acceptable at this level. Ambience: Our table had a ceiling fan spinning directly beneath a spotlight, creating constant flickering light that was nauseating. I had to ask staff to turn off the fan before I could continue eating. Not the kind of detail a restaurant at this level should overlook. Service (major failure): I pre-ordered a birthday cake from Rosewood’s own bakery (located on the ground floor of the same hotel) and had it delivered to the restaurant in advance, intending it as a surprise for my mother. After all dishes were served, nothing happened — they even brought out a complimentary dessert with zero birthday acknowledgement. When I finally asked about the cake, the staff brought it out still in the box and asked my mother directly whether she wanted them to take it out and light candles. Surprise completely ruined. This was coordination within the same hotel — ground floor bakery to fifth floor restaurant — and they still couldn’t manage it. Inexcusable. Would not return.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had a truly 5-star experience overall. Located right at the heart of the city. Amazing view from the room and friendly helpful staff. Very clean and cozy room. Special thanks to concierge Mike, who was exceptionally patient and helpful with our transport booking arrangements. Although his shift was scheduled to end at 7:00am, he kindly waited until 7:10am for us to come down and personally assisted us with our transport. Those extra 10 minutes spoke volumes about his sense of responsibility and professionalism. He carried out his duties with a warm smile throughout, and it truly made our stay even more memorable.
